DOGS WELFARE TRUST was formed in early 2012, to assist in the care and re-homing of stray and abandoned dogs.

In 2014 we signed an agreement with the municipal animal shelter of Adeje and take care of all medical costs and assist in finding homes, for the dogs in the shelter.

We have now been able to legalize a Veterinary Clinic sin lucro within the shelter, to attend to the dogs We are told that this is a first here.

We also have a programme of assistance for those dog owners who may have difficulty in funding medical treatment for their pets.

Our emphasis is and always will be, the re-homing of dogs and to that end all adoptions done through the Charity are without cost to the person adopting a dog.

MUNICIPAL REFUGE OF ADEJE
When Dogs Welfare Trust Tenerife was formed, it was with the idea of taking dogs out of Refuges.

Whilst we all realize that Refuges are necessary, the less time a dog spends in a Refuge, the better.

Our policy from the beginning was to make available the adoption of a Dog to everyone.

Tenerife Dog Rescue
Our first rescue dog and with the honour of being the first he has been named Mr. Uno (One in Spanish).

He was rescued from the middle of another busy road.

He needs some TLC for a skin problem and once that has been cured we will post his picture in the hope of a new home for him.

He is a young puppy, approximately 5 months, all white with the most adorable pale brown eyes, he is good with people, kids and other dogs and with a very loving nature.

He will be a small breed, typical Canarian Heinz 57, long haired.

He can go to Germany with no problem as there is a big demand for small dogs but as he is our first rescue dog it would be lovely to rehome him here.

As we now begin our journey of rescuing dogs it is wonderful that the first two we have helped have had a lucky outcome and we hope that this continues.

Many Thanks to MADAT for their help in this endeavour.

Charity Shop
Our Charity Shop opened it's doors in early 2012 and thanks to tremendous public support, has proven to be a great success.

The shop is run by a first class team of very loyal, unpaid volunteers, who freely give of their time to run the shop and together with very generous donations from the public, there are now many dogs in hapy homes, who, without this help, could not have had a second opportunity of happiness.

We would like to thank everyone for their steadfast support for which we are eternally grateful.

Please visit our shop in Apolo Centre Los Cristianos.

Rescued Dogs

Tenerife Dog Rescue
Say hello to our first rescue puppy Cookie!

Cookie The Rescued Dog

Poor Cookie and her sibling were thrown from a car on a busy road here in Tenerife, sadly her brother was killed but the lucky Cookie survived and made her way to a nearby Camping site.

The lovely owners of the Bar scooped her up and called us. She is only 3 months old, yes, even with those long long legs!

On arrival at the vets she was found to be fit and well and was given all the necessary vaccinations and within a few days had found happiness in a new home, with a caring family.
